What are Pediatric Care Services?
Home Care Services of Rhode Island offers daily supportive healthcare services such as skilled care, companion care, personal care, medication management and much needed respite services for pediatric families in need.
Home Care Services of Rhode Island makes it possible for clients and their families to tend to normal daily business and activities. Utilizing our services, allows families and the clients primary caregivers to participate in life more fully by knowing that your child is in the hands of a capable, compassionate, caregiver or clinician.
Home Care Services of Rhode Island provides skilled nursing services for children and young adults up to age 21 who may have any number of medical issues. Maintaining a routine is especially challenging for school age children who may need medications and skilled attention during the school day.
If your child has complex needs such as a tracheal or feeding tube, relies on a ventilator or needs suctioning, daytime personal care or feeding – a skilled nurse can provide that one-on-one support that the child needs. We contract with many cities and town school departments and can accompany your child from home to school, work one-on-one with the child for the day and return home with them at day’s end. Our nurses may then stay with your child into the evening if approved by their insurance company or the State.
What are Private Duty Services?
At Home Care Services of Rhode Island, we provide Private Duty Services to both adults and children under the age of twenty-one. The services provided are unique based upon a customized Plan of Care.
For seniors, we recognize that as individuals age, their personal care needs vary greatly but their desire to live in the place they love is consistent, their home. Our team members work closely with our clients, their families, and providers to understand the unique goals for care and to provide the right level of assistance whether their home is in an apartment, house or a facility. Private Duty Services for seniors typically are Personal Care Services which are a range of services that support Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) to Companion Care, to Respite Care. They are paid for privately, directly, or from a trust, or long-term care insurance policies of the client. It can also include custodial care, complex care, or live-in care both on a short-term or long-term basis using self-pay funding means.
Pediatric Private Duty Services is for children and young adults under the age of twenty-one. This level of care can be a range of services that support a child in the home, a facility or any learning environment. The services range from caring for individuals with complex and skilled needs to providing assistance in a learning environment by accompanying a child on a bus to school to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the individual. These services may be paid for by direct contracts with school districts, the state of Rhode Island, private insurance, or means of self-funding.
